It is because your character is so light and agile. Examples are his run speed, duck jump ability, crouching, bunnyhopping etc. In farcry your character seems 200lbs overweight which takes (imo) a lot of fun outta it. In painkiller you cant duck, wtf lol. Also the story is kinda bs.
Anyway thats why I think hl stands out. He not some sneaky sob that can get shot without dieing. Hes an in your face action hero that lets his gun do the talking but is not without his quiet dignity :)

Of all theories, I find this the most weird and farfetched.. But hey, everyone's got their own opinion!

:O

Yeah Gordon is more of an athlete than a scientist...wonder when we'll get those Nike Hazardsuits for our morning jog...

a piece of my brain fell out of my left ear... E-BAY!!!

I think he actually has a point though. In Half-Life you can play most of the game at a full-on run, rather than the usual walk or jog, and you can easily dodge out of the way or a lot of the stuff that comes your way.
I know if I was in Gordon's position I'd sure as hell be running. :D

i like being able to go fast in games. like if im in a corridor, i dont want to spend 10 mins walking it, i want to long jump to the other side, and run as fast as i can. being so light and agile in a game, is great for impatient people like me [well not really, but things like that can get annoying]

not that I think the movement in far cry is great, but you can duck... you can duck, you can go prone, you can run, you can walk, and you can sprint. Painkiller's guy seems pretty nimble, it's just that there would be no real point to ducking... did you miss ducking in doom? I didn't.
