ok so i thought i would fire up unreal tournament 2003. i hadnt played it much before because it wasnt ours, my brother borrowed it off his mate.
so i thought i would see how much fps i get in it, so i turned up my AA and AF and turned v-sync off ( i like to use AA and AF so i leave them on for testing my fps )
and i opened up fraps and started to play, and i noticed that my fps were somehow locked at 75. it woulr be on 75 almost constantly never going over it. and i figured that was very wierd seeing as v-sync is off. so i fiddled about and got nothing.
any ideas y its locked at 75 fps anyone?
help would be much appreciated

When you disabled v-sync, did you do it in the UT2003.ini file in the system's directory? or did you do it in your display driver control panel? Go to the UT2003.ini file and scroll down until you find the section with the v-sync option and set it to false. Should be under a section called D3D somethin somethin...(cant remember exactly). Also, you dont have to use fraps to check your framerate. While ingame, open the game's console by hitting the tilde key ~ and type stat fps.

o its ok ive already figured it out, i was turning v-sync off in opengl wen ut2k3 uses direct3d. thanks anyway

We all do something like that sometimes ;) I keep v-sync on to prevent tearing, im fine with a max of 85FPS at 1024x786

That's actually exactly how i play aswell.

Seems to give the best image quality.
