My question is this:
Are there any decent FPS games with dinosaurs, besides the Turok series and the old Trespasser?

I just find the lack of them surprising, they should be right next to games involving shooting Nazis and zombies in quantity...

Peter Jackson's King Kong The Movie The Game had dinasours I think.

There's Dino Crisis but they're more or less Resident Evil with dinosaurs and then there's the Carnivores series which is all about hunting dinosaurs.

That's all that I know of, it really is a disappointingly small market.

I remember being extremely excited by this game when I played a demo of it for the 360 at our local Best Buy. I believe it was mostly the visuals, and thinking back on it the gameplay wasn't that good.

Sega's Jurassic Park arcade game, which is technically a first person shooter, as it's a lightgun shooter.

The one where you start out on a jeep? Then there's a swamp with like a crocodile boss dino or whatever? Heh, I played that a few times, it was fun would have played more but it was ridiculously overpriced.

Jurassic Park for SNES has FPS moments in them. ;)

Gunman Chronicles had Dinosaurs. Whether it's decent or not is another matter.

Deus Ex's Greasels are kind of Dinosaurs, right?

Peter Jackson's King Kong The Movie The Game is actually quite good. Though an adaptation of an arguably shitty movie based on an older, shittier movie, Peter Jackson's King Kong The Movie The Game is the creation of the delightful Michael Ancel (of Beyond Good and Evil game), and suffice to say what he delivered in Peter Jackson's King Kong The Movie The Game was a touch more special than what you might expect to find in your run-of-the-mill, movie-tie-in game. It can be a little repetitive, and the finale, based on those culminating moments of aforementioned shitty/shittier movie, is, well, terrible (but a finale that must close with you dying and thus losing was never exactly tailored for a game), but this doesn't degrade the quality of an otherwise competent and engaging game. The latter point regarding the finale doesn't actually count anyway; at this point in Peter Jackson's King Kong The Movie The Game, there are no dinosaurs to be found, and I would thus recommend not playing post-Skull Island.

There's also Dino Crisis - accurately described by Lucid as Resident Evil with dinosaurs.

Well I have tried the Demo of King kong and altough I really like the art direction, the actual gameplay isn't my cup of tea.

And Barnz, wtf was that? D:

Right now I'm considering trying the latest instalment of Turok, but I've heard a lot of people say it's bad... Has anyone here played it?

Carnivores 2 is a wonderful experience. Don't hunt deer or elk. Be a man and hunt something that could kill you in seconds.

EDIT: in safety on your computer at home

Yes, it's abysmal.
Generic weapons, generic jungle levels, and more quicktime time events than I'd like.

It has pretty graphics and a cool opening, but that's it.

This is based off of trying the PC version, btw.

Aye, the Carnivores games were ace (apart from the most recent one apparently, which is just a bargain basement generic FPS). Stalking through the undergrowth, preparing to take on a man eating monster is a fantastic experience. Taking down a T-Rex with a 9mm is still one of my top gaming moments. Though I've still never got the other big kill in the dino gaming world, taking down the T-Rex in Trespasser on Ascent 1.

But I'll get him. One day I'll get him. (Or more likley, her, it being one of the InGen Dinos)

that never gets old
