could sombody ckeck my system for me please??

i get about 25-40fps in hl2 & cs:s high/recommended settings

my specs-

althon 2800+ @2.25 stock (t'bred not barton)
6800gt 400/1100 agp8
ecs kt-600 mobo
80g + 80g samsung hd
400 psu

do you think i should be getting higher fps???

thats fine
i get 25
i dont lag out to the point where it effects gameplay

thats odd, you got a high end card, a normal processor speed but you only get that much fps? somethings wrong

Processor possibly creates a bottleneck for the card.
how much ram do you have?

i dont think so, even with that processor, he still should be running fine, i got the same specs, except a 9800pro with only ONLY 200 wats of power supply and i fun better than him, and i run on high texture, everything on low, and highest res

The cpu is bottlenecking, but some settings might be too high. I get 63 fps with my 9700 Pro and a 2ghz P4 during the stress test. I do high detail at 1280x1024, but low shadows, low reflections, and no AA/AF.

yeah man i had a 6800gt, and at times it was fast, but it would also drop to like 35fps in action.

anyways i traded it a for a x800xt, and now the lowest FPS i ever had was 57fps. i usually game at 1280x960 4xAA 16xAF.

in the stress test

GT at ULTRA speeds = 103fps 1280x960 2xaa 8xaf
XT stock speeds = 136fps 1280x960 4xaa 16xaf

the XT is also running at higher AA AF settings.

its because you have a 6800gt , and a motherboard that doesnt support hyper threading what the gfx card uses , you might aswell of bought a mx 440.

i already own an mx440!!

to answer the other question i have a gig of pc2700

Ummm, the power supply isn't in question here. So I don't know what you're getting at....

Ontopic: I would run driver cleaner, clean the drivers out, reinstall the drivers and defrag the pc.

i have bfg 6800gt oc and amd64 3200+ w/ 1 gig corsair xms ram and asus k8v deluxe. I am hoping this board has hyperthreading. but i still have yet to resolve why comp chokes so much in deathmatch.

any ideas exodus?

its your ram and bus speed soounds like theyre out of sync
