His farewell letter.

It's a long read but if everything in it's true (which I'm inclined to believe) I feel sorry for him and the way people have talked about him for speaking his mind. He mentions that he got onto to the Prima: Behind the Game project for Half-Life 2 and had to sign a non-disclosure agreement, and that because of this he got exclusive time with Valve and realized things weren't up to snuff in relation to the Sept. 30th release date. All in all he seems to have spoken his mind and supported the Half-Life community even while Valve (according to him) was outright lying to everybody.

He also mentions us here at halflife2.net and some of the not-so-nice things some of us have said to him (comparing him to hitler). I know that not everyone on these forums said mean and/or stupid things about him, but I still think it would be nice if people responded and wished him the best of luck with whatever he decides to do after this.

Sorry to see you go Fragmaster and hope you'll enjoy fragging people in countless more games yet to come (including all the Half-Life 2 mods).

I didn't know that, but still in this thread I ask that people say a few nice/encouraging words to him and don't just point out what he said about us. I'm gonna get another thread locked aren't I... dangit. Still I hope the best for him.

Alot of people said alot of nice and encouraging words to Frag for the first 5 or so pages in the other topic

"I feel most of the problems at Valve are due to the ineptitude of one individual in particular. I'm not going to name names, but you can probably guess who I'm talking about. This person is easily the worst person I've ever met during my time within the "video game industry," and that's saying a lot, considering that this business is filled with superstar jerkwads like... well... me. I don't feel that he does his job properly, and he isn't what I'd consider to be a decent, trustworthy, or moral human being. "

who's he talkin about? doug lombardi? gabe newell?

well, that post had more interesting news about HL2 than anything I've heard for about 7 months :)

So Valve has had to cut content from the game in an attmept to get it to ship sooner (they must really be behind, much farther than we know), and one person at Valve is evil and doesn't deserve their job (I think he meant Doug, but I don't know, maybe it's Gabe). Interesting, very interesting.

You'd also need to question WHEN Fragmaster received this info.. how long ago? When did he work on the Prima behind the scenes look, etc.

Anyhow, I'm being half optimistic, half pessimistic.. I hope E3 brings NEW media, not stuff we've seen like PCG/PCZ will bring us :|

All this makes me roll my eyes:)rolleyes:) at valve and wonder why Im even bothering looking forward to this game..sometimes it seems like one big conspiracy. Ive always suspected that they probably lied about 9/30 just to get preorders. :frown:

If they are cutting content well then how big is this ****ing game? Or did they just spend the first 3 1/2 years picking each others noses? :flame:

Everything he said is true, Valve is the ultimate bullshitter in the gaming industry. I never liked them, but I used to respect them atleast. I don't anymore. I really hope they aren't screwing up so bad that it has too great an impact on hl2.

I'm not trying to be negative or anything, it's just reality.

well, carry on with your life, have a few drinks, play a few games, and wait and see.

Poow Fwaggie-Waggie. Hey, I never hated him, I wish him best of luck.
ANd if what he says about Valve is true....well, we all knew it anyway.

I was a little disturbed by a few things. I won't get into the specifics, but information wasn't matching up. Things said during the E3 demo turned out to be either misleading or untrue, for example.

Wow...f*ck valve Im not really lookin forward to this game now after reading this, sounds to me like valve is just hyping it up for money.

I think this would put best by a nameless person I know:

'Looks like someone stole his rattle'
