Fragmaster steps down........

FROM FRAGMASTER on Gamespy.com: I didn't like the way Quake II felt, it didn't seem as responsive as the original Quake. I didn't like all the orange lighting. I didn't care for the Strogg. Plain Quake II DM didn't do much for me. After awhile, it became clear that I didn't have that much business running the biggest Quake II fansite when I didn't even like the game that much, so I turned the site over to someone else.

Well, he seems to dislike HL2 so much before it has even come out. Maybe he should step down here also. I doubt he bashed ID over their release dates...

Hmmm... I wouldn't hold your breath. If he's right, dignity will not be a word in his vocabulary, let alone behaviour.
If he's wrong, he'll have to change his e-mail address, and possibly even his on-line name as he'll probably never hear the end of it. Which is a shame, seeing as we'd be pissed off with him if it was the other way around (ie: he's right and taunts us)...


EDIT: Woggy, it's not so much that he doesn't believe in Valve or the release date (actually going up to the brink of calling them outright liars) but that he's been so arrogant and unsubstantiated about it.

Yeah I voted for pie too because I've only follow the whole discussion very loosely, and don't really have a problem with it. I dont care very much about peoples guesses only statements from people that should know (I.E. ppl that works at valve etc.).

Think of this as an indication of how much he has alienated the Half-Life 2 community with his reporting style.

Rest assured, there are those of us who are sane in the HL2 community. The quality of these forums has been deteriorating severely lately, but hopefully after HL2 is released, things will settle down. My theory is that the troublesome people will lose interest and stop coming back after a while.

I think this community has the potential to mature into one that you can be glad to be a part of, but with all the pre-release buzz, things will only get worse before they get better.

Edit: I have to admit, though, I do share some anti-fragmaster sentiments. He's acted extremely immaturely and arrogantly for someone who has so much journalistic power within the gaming community.
