Fraps lag on Ep2

I've tried to do some recording on Episode 2, but every time i try the game begins to stutter. It plays perfectly at all times if i'm not using fraps. I've updated my video driver and i've been able to record videos on Portal without any problems.

Any suggestions?

Not surprising. Episode 2 is more graphically intensive than Portal.

It's all about how you adjust your settings in fraps. I can usually run at 60 FPS in game with it on with no problems, 100 FPS and i get a good amount of stuttering. Anything higher is just pointless.

Does half and full size recording affect the framerate? I think i'm still using full size. Usually i'm running without any lag at all at a framerate of 25 odd on both portal and ep2 according to fraps.

use full size, otherwise you only get crap.
just lower the fps recording speed in the mivies tab, if its at watever fpd, lower it by maybe 20-30, and it should run better. if not, then maybe take sound out, but not reccommended, everythings better with sound. but dont lower the fpd too much or itll be shit.

Source Recorder? Anyone? It's inbuilt to the game, so no lag problems of course.

Does it work properly on Ep2? People have problems with it lagging quite badly on Portal..
