Every converter on the net seems to cost money. Are there any good out there?

BTW. Which file tyes usally work on DVD? I know mpeg doesn't.

I can never find anything that works, so I just get a recording program, set the input to Stereo Mix (Sounds that the computer plays, specifically the audio of the video), and play the movie and hit record. Takes longer, depending on how long the video is, but it works.

Yeah, the total time of the things I wanna convert is about 15 hours, so another alternitive would be nice.

Yeah, that'd be the best way. All these programs that say "AVI to MPEG", "AVI to GIF", "MP3 to WAV", they're all complete crap. There are some good free programs out there amongst the crap though. Failing that, you'd be better of investing in a decent software package.

Pity... Just a question, MP3 does work on most DVD-plyers, right?

There must be another way... AVI files are very common, but they don't work on DVD, so the demand for such converter must be big.

Exact audio copy.

Awesome cd ripping tool (when coupled with a good lame compile) and i'm pretty sure it can convert avi's.

If not, itunes always works (although the sound quality you'll lose is tremendous. But if you can't even hear the diff between mp3 and cd, then it's no problem)

If you are wanting to put audio to a DVD movie then for best compatibility use MP2. MP3 is an extra format that the DVD player has to support and not all DVD players do.
TMPGEnc and Virtual Dub are both good programs FYI. I know TMPGEnc uses a DVD compatible audio format.

Depends on how recent the DVD-players are.

I don't know if the trial version is limited on how much you can extract, but you might want to try this one:

Is there any format that all DVD players can play? Because ine of them is 5 years old, while the other one is very new. That converter of yours only copied the sound (and only the first minute of it). Thanks anyway :)

I'm afraid those sites are pay programs.

I have now spent the whole ****ing day looking for a converter, but those that I found were truely crap, Sanada, you were right. Some just copied the wound, som just 1 minute of the video, some had a ****ing text in the middle saying "Remove this tag for just $XX.XX. I hate this. I am begging you, as a fellow human being, please help me!
