First off... mods if this is off base by all means kill it, but the main purpose is not to advertise my own account, but to enlighten everyone to this incredible deal... that you need to take advantage of, and it will take work. Getting 5 people to sign up for this is not cake!

On the the website you will be asked to join and refer 5 friends to the website. Believe me not a single penny will be spent. Aol, Columbia House, Blockbuster, CNN, and Ebay are all advertisers of this site and all support it. To get the free ipod you are required to do TWO things. One is complete one of the offers they ask. The second is refer 5 of your friends to the website.
Here is a link to my referal page where you can sign up for your's and help me get mine. But before you do that read the rest for further affirmation.

Here is some of the proof I found
http://www.wired.com/news/mac/0,2125,64614,00.html
Kevin Rose from TechTV's "The Screen Savers" also has done the offer
http://kevinrose.typepad.com/kr/200...podscom_sc.html
http://www.geek.com/news/geeknews/2...40819026544.htm

Here is what I did.

I signed up for the website. When it asks you to complete an offer sign up for a free 2 week trial of the bargain network (cool site too) after signing up for it, completing the form... I got made sure that freeipods confirmed my subscription (a popup comes and tells you what the conditions are to that deal, and how long it takes to give you the credit you need) and was connected LIVE to a chat rep, I actually cancelled my account within 10 minutes of actually starting the trial, and that part is done for my ipod.....( YOUR CC INFO DOES NOT GET sent to ************* you are signing up directly on the bargain or whatever offer website) . But of course if you dont cancel you WILL be charged...

Next off, if you're still skeptical let me tell you why this actually works... ************* are geniouses. They are advertising Ipods... which apple doesn't mind so they got a price break on the ipods they bought, 2 they are advertising many companies with trials such as AOL, 3 more then 70% of the people who try this will not get the 5 refferals... so freeipods gains alot of advertising money, and doesn't spend it on the ipod.

Oh and 2 of my friends have done it, and their products we're shipped and they ahve tracking numbers

Fine... fine.... Maybe I'll give this a try.

He's right... I did receive a $250 certificate from these guys.

And Kevin on the Screen Savers did too...

Yeah it deffenitely isn't a scham specially if its endorsed by all these big brands... eBay, AOL, blockbuster, Netscape.

I know people that got it.

If you don't mind, if you sign up, use my link. :D

Now a2597... dont hijack my thread with your link... thats not cool

I believe thehunter1320 from these forums got one too :)

I want them to do it in the UK though ;( We're missing out.

freedvds.com
freevideogames.com
freecondoms.com

They have alot of sites like that. And if ones legit you can assume they all are... but this is the only one thats been confirmed.

:| Credit Card needed? You said if you don't cancell your account you will be charged for something...

Thats because, if you don't cancel your account... you will be charged for something... Thats what a free trial is, you sign up for aol for a free 30 day trial, then some people forget to cancel and get charged a month. You just have to remember to cancel it after it confirms..

My friend received his 250$ gift cert!!! I don't know why he chose that... but he got it..

I hope they will sell your guys credit card numbers somewhere and you will be forced to close it, but not before you lose money and go throw hell and back to return it. It will show you not to post that referral link crap all over damn internet.

hmm?
when i go to the freeipods site it only accepts US addresses.. so um.. unless u have another link or something.. ur going to have to explain how us Canadians can get it.

quite a few of us were interested but like i said.. only US addresses are accepted.

oh lucky...
i have asked around and none of my US buddies want to do this for me :(
they are afraid of scams even tho i have explained its not a scam.

Send them to my post, I hope it was explanative enough. Tell them you will cover the shipping fees, all they have to do is receive/re-ship the product.

what do the 5 referals have to do? do they just sign up to receive a free ipod too, and hopefully get 5 people to do the same for them?

edit: also, what service should i sign up for that i can cancle easy and not have to pay for?

Bingo on the first part, the 5 referalls would be in the same situation I am, and for the service? All of them require a credit card which is standard procedure when it comes to trials like this. I went with bargain networks because it was instant, and very easy to cancel (over the automated phone). See not all the trials will appear instantly on your "check status" button because the company has to confirm with say... netscape that you have indeed entered a trial.

But put it this way, I have completed my bargain trial, cancelled it and I have 2 people who are CONFIRMED for their deal. So I only need 3 more people to sign up and do the trial. See as soon as someone gives their email under your ref it appears on my status page, so I can see like 15 people signed up, but either they haven't done one of the offers... or it hasn't gone through yet. I'm praying for the latter.

You obviously didn't even read my whole post.

As said before, get me a site that actually ships beyond the States, then I'll be more than interested since it free to do this (true?).

would someone be able to help me get one...like i type in your address since i live in canada and they dont send there and u send me the ipod?>

Marty905 I wouldnt trust some random person you dont know with an apple ipod...

It's a scam in the sense that your 5 friends don't get anything out of it!

It certainly seems that they have been sending out free iPODs but if you look at the smallprint it says that they are not obligated to send you an iPOD, even if you do all the referal stuff properly. If they decide they've given out enough free iPODs to make people believe that it's not a scam, they could legally just sit back and watch people jump through hoops for no reward whilst they rake in the cash from AOL and the rest.

Not saying that definately will happen, but it could.

Wait, show me exactly where it says that :D.

Go to the main page and click on "terms and conditions", you find:

************* does not guarantee that a user will receive credit for an offer

************* does not make any guarantee on delivery time or availability of product

************* does not guarantee the availability of any product on our website

Remember kids, always read the small print.

They got this idea from me, I bet.

I used to play Ultima Online and I'd sit around the banks grifting. The one that worked best was to tell people to give me some amount of money, on the condition that I would give them exactly twice whatever they handed me.

The way it would work is:
  1. Someone would get the guts to give me, say, 1,000gp.
  2. I would dutifully hand them 2,000gp.
  3. They might try again, or others would.
  4. A crowd would build.
  5. Someone, likely someone rich anyway, would give me 10k - 100k gp.
  6. I would pm them and tell them to play along and we'll fleece everyone. Sometimes I'd act threatening :(. About 75% of the time they'd play along.
  7. I'd either make a lot of money, or end up a little down, and have to lay low for awhile (30mins maybe, tee hee).
Sometimes I'd also work with someone else who knew the gag.

Meh, just thought I'd share (confess) that. Not exactly the same, but similar.

if anyone is interested, my referal link is: http://www.*************/default.aspx?referer=9278055

Hah, you are being objective, you aren't printing the whole thing.

If the products availabilty is out, they wait t'ill its back in stock. AND THEN THEY SEND IT. Sure if that happens the wait could be a month or more, but it doesn't mean they wont send it.
