Freedom of speach revoked?!

lmao.. speach.

anyways hmm it doesnt sound too surprising. military officers cant go saying whatever they want with their governmental powers. although a government email account doesnt sound too harmful... its still something that falls within that range...

How can they revoke something that doesn't even exist?

Joining the military in any country = temporarily giving up your rights.

Nothing new.

also speach lol

yes, the military, like the school system, temporarily suspends the constitutional rights of their constituents.

No problems here, I don't want someone who doesn't support my country in a position to defend it.

What about, someone who has concerns about fighting and dying for the agenda of a small group of men out to make a profit irregardless of the toll on human life?

The Army is the Army. Whether you view the war in Iraq to make a select few rich or a way to disarm a more potentially dangerous situation is up to you.

He wasn't NOT supporting, he was saying he wanted an extra investigation on it.

Well it makes sense, he's in the military. Soldier's essentially, have no rights until they're off-duty.

Actually soldiers swear by the Constitution. An example of a soldier having rights is the court martial. If the soldier has no rights then they would simply shoot him without proof of offense.

It's a soldier, that's how it is with soldiers.

As a soldier, your boss is the US federal system/the president. Spreading emails about how much you hate the US government/the president is akin to going up to your boss at work and going "I ****ING HATE YOU!"

That's the way it goes

A soldier is there to do a job, they signed up for knowing they would be sent to do the dirty work that diplomacy couldn't/wouldn't sort out. They have thier orders and have to follow them

As in Saving Private Ryan, gripes go up and follow the chain of command, but you don't gripe in front of your subordinates or non-military

The way the world is

Why do you people seem to think that is what he was doing? He only said he wanted ANOTHER INVESTIGATION ABOUT 9/11, NEVER did he say he hated his country, or anything close.

My bad.

I didn't read the entire article D:

You did have a point though. You can't have an opinion against the government if you are working for it. It jus sucks what's really happening ot him. Poor guy....just for stating something ;(

He still has both his freedom and his speech. He's just out of a job.

I agree completely.

btw, The US could do with a USA Public Safety And Domestic Security Act.

No. We're perfectly fine. Thanks for the recommendation though. We really appreciate it.

Sometimes you have to suck it up, especially when you work for the military. I may not agree with what they did to him, but that's how it goes.

I'm sorry but according to what some of you are saying in this thread these people would be considered traitors

http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-5702006622816922747&q=iraq

questioning policy is not being disloyal ..I wish more american would get a backbone and question their governments motivations/deeds

People piss and moan in their houses and what not, but I think people forget that the government listens to US *though I'm not so sure how true that is today*. We have the power to influence alot, and if we all stood up at the same time and did something....well, something would finally be done!

*note* I am really tired, and if any of this is false, sorry.*
