You should see the guy's responces to the folks at Hard Light Productions. He conducts himself with absolutely no self-restraint.

I haven't played any of his games, but I already hate the guy.

And he has a tendency of popping up in forums when his name is mentioned! Personally i think he is like the candy man.

He totally disregards HLP as a "ruleless cesspool." Some HLP people came in and tried to CALMLY talk to him and he responded with childish insults and basically made an enemy of the entire remaining Freespace community. What an idiot.

It's sickening. He refuses to recognize the work of the Source Code Project team. He is going to RUIN this if he gets the license to it. I hope THQ will buy it and let Volition make it once again.

I hope he doesn't get the liscense.. but I wouldn't rest your hopes on Volition. I'd bet most of the Freespace team is long gone.

I know DaveB is still there. Uhm, just compare the FS2 credits with Volition's site. I think quite a few are still there.

Hmm.. if Dave is still there, maybe there is hope afterall. Of course, since they are owned by THQ, it would probably be a console game.

Freespace has way too many controls to fit a console controller though :X.

But really. The Freespace series never got the right advertising. It is like the Half Life of it's genre, it surprises me that no so many people know about it compared to Wing Commander or Freelancer. If THQ and Volition did more work on getting the word out (if they got the license before that MORON Derek Smart) then it would be great!
