Freezes/crashes at loading to next part in the game

Ok so i am playing HL2. just got it... So i am flying though with the boat... get to a loading checkpoint and i hear an error sound but i dont see any box that pops up to tell me went wrong... and so the game freezes and i push alt+ctrl+delete and the game just completely closes leaving me on desktop with taskmanger.... how can i find out what the problem is...? please help



can you move this to support... i just relized...

that happened to me at one loading point once. What I did is to load the game from a earlier save point, rather than the most recent quick or auto safe. After that the loading worked just fine.
