Freezing during gameplay

Hey, I just got Half-Life 2, and partway through the Black Mesa East section (when the girl is escorting you down to the lab), I follow the girl into the room with the elevator, but after she stops talking, nothing happens.. The game is not completely frozen, but the story does not progress and the girl doesn't go in the elevator when you do.. She just stares.. and I've tried an older game save just before that part, but it happens again and again.. Any thoughts? cheers

Sounds like K-man got his HL2 working, and re-registered to ask for help with his next inevitable problem...

A bit of a coincidence that someone tries to get their pirated HL2 running, gets banned, then the next day someone is asking about the good old AI piracy issue.

Or maybe he's serious and he really has a problem.
Try validating game files through steam.
If you have it.

Gotta agree with Mc Bane on this, even if he isn't a re-registered K-man that problem is a dead giveaway of an illegal HL2.

In the unlikely event that this problem is on a legal HL2 a simple validation of game files and/or restarting the level should fix it.
