French source says game is delayed for Europe

I just read at one of France's most popular websites (Gamekult.com) that the game will be activated only at 3pm local time, which is GMT+1. The official acivation should take place at 9am though!!!

Gamekult simply "explains" that Valve's servers are activated at 6am PST.


I wonder what their source is, but IMO their news is FAKE :flame:

Online activation is the same for everyone. Are you sure the site wasn't talking about differences between time zones?
 
No, I think the guy who posted that news is just a n00b who thought that if less people try to activate at the same time, it would decrease the chances of a crash of Steam's servers!

It's just a simple mistake besides they didn't even mention that part about Valve's servers, you made that up.
 
It's a simulataneous release worldwide. That means whether you're in London or the Antarctica, your version of HL2 is unlocked at the same time.
