Half-Life 2 Single Player Levels:
I’m in a room. There were a lot of manhacks and explosive barrels. There are pipes and a catwalk overhead. There is also a ladder. What do I do?
Use the ladder to get onto the pipes and then from there onto the catwalk. In the next room there are more pipes. Jump down the pipes and turn the valve.
I’m in the elevator in Black Mesa East and Dr. Mossman just stands there. What do I do?
Try reloading a previous save file or restarting the level by typing ‘restart’ (without quotation marks) into the console. If none of this works try validating your game.
I’ve just after killing the giant antlion and the Vortigaunt stands there and keeps saying “The Freeman must follow”, is standing there doing nothing or nothing happens.

I'm in Nova Prospekt and Alyx has just stop responding!

See above. Alternatively, explore the level for other things to do.

How do I turn on the console?
Method 1: Go into Steam and right-click the game you wish to enable the console in and click properties. Select ‘Set launch options…’ and enter ‘–console’ (without quotation marks).
Method 2: Launch the desired game and go to options, keyboard, advanced and select ‘enable developer console’
How do I validate a game?
Go into Steam and right-click the game you wish to validate and click properties. Enter the ‘Local files’ tab and click ‘Verify integrity of game cache’ (Steam must be in online mode)

I can’t play the game in offline mode!
Make sure that it is fully updated. If it is and you are still experiencing this problem try playing the game while online for a little while. I don’t know why this works but it seems to.
When I start a game, it just shows the loading screen and then doesn't do anything!
Make sure you have the latest graphic and sound drivers.
