This is like saying that a senator from Detroit is responsible for the absurdly high murder rate
 
at this stage, whomever they find guilty must be charged as adults. if you commit a crime that adults do, i believe they should pay the full penalty.

exactly, they should enact a rule, lets say you're a known gang member, you spend 100 hrs community service. i bet the streets would be bloody the next month, then nothing at all because all the gangs would be rounded up...and no one wants to serve jail time or community service.
 
The problem with gangs is that people talk about addressing the gangs, and not the issues that spring up.

Go out and execute every single gang member out there... and more will crop up. It's a guarantee.

I'm passionate about my hate towards gangs, but there has to be a solution that fixes the core issues of why there are gangs, or else everything will stay the same.

Kill them all, put up the shit that prevents them (after school shit or w/e), maybe even give people jobs to do that, instant clean slate. Well if you ignore the slaughtered gang blood its clean.
 
Some gang members can be rehabilitated. Many have been.

It's the motivational causes that would still be there. Lack of things to do after school, go looking for trouble, get into fights, etc. If the ****ers had something like after school shit they liked they'd probably not get into this shit. And the ones that slip through can be taken care of in a humane way like brainwashing.

They're poor and their schools don't do shit, or encourage them to do it effectively.

This; it reminds me of a case in this country, not similar, but I think there was a 11 and 12 year old kid that was subjected to sexual harassment, torture and left for dead by kids of similar age.

What is the chance that these people can ever be redeemed?

What service can they provide whereby they pay with their blood.

Remove them from a society that promotes and rewards this behavior and into a society that will properly educate them and that promotes successful and ethical behavior, and I believe they easily can redeem themselves.
