Friend's F.E.A.R. demo won't load after 1st cutscene

My friend has a problem with the F.E.A.R. demo and he's already uninstalled once and downloaded from a different site, and installed again and has the same problem. He can start up the game and everything, and the cutscene that you watch before you play loads fine, then when it starts to load the actual level you play in, the bar never fills at all, remains empty, never loads, and he's waited 15 minutes for it to without any luck. He has a 3.0ghz P4, 2gb of dual channel Corsair XMS ram, and an X800 pro. Does anyone know why it won't work for him? All other games work fine.

I think that this is a common problem, not sure how some people fixed it. You could always look in teh fear demo thread in teh general games chat forum. You might find something there
