My current digital camera is over three years old, so I'm looking at buying -<this>- one. To tell you the truth, I'm really not looking for advice on which digital camera to buy, I'm just asking If this one is worth the money.(unless this camera is really, really crappy)
One of the most important things that I would like to know is how good does this camera capture video?

... and yes I do like the size and shape of the camera. (the smaller ones really annoy me)

From what I hear it's a good camera. I read somewhere that it has a bit of shutter lag, which is the time between when you push the button and it actually takes the picture.

Thanks :) I'll keep that in mind.

Well, if your heart's set upon getting it, it's not a bad choice at all. Fuji's lower end models do tend to have a little lag; but as with any low-budget digi you've just gotta learn to prefocus. I wouldn't worry about it.

Well it's either going to be this camera or no camera, and I'm sure the delay isn't as bad as the camera that I have now.
So does anybody know how well this camera (or similar ones) captures video?

The only problem I see from the specs is that it does'nt capture Audio, So unless you like Videos with No sound, then I would choose another model.
Also cameras that tend to use 4 AA batteries tend to go through them at an astounding rate, so plently of rechargeable batteries and a charger are a must, or get a camera with a Lithium ion battery, these tend to hold a charge for longer.

Personally I have an olf Fuji 2 mp camera that I have had for over 3 years, it still takes good pictures, and the re-creation of colours are good enough for me in the photo's that I take.
I think I paid over £250 for it, but these days they can be bought for a little under £100.
I use my camcorder when I want to capture video with sound, though.

If you can tell me where to get a camcorder (digital) for under $350 CND, I would be happy to get it.

No doubt it's a good camera, but I like the look and size of this one.

It's a good camera from the little time I've used it. Nice 10x zoom and it will take a very good still picture. I havn't used it with anything in motion. As for the AA's, just get Ni-MH batteries and a charger. They can go for a long time (>100 Pics or up to 3-4 hrs) compared to Alkaline AAs.

Thanks for all the advice, but I realized that I like shooting video more than capturing still images. So I've decided to save up some more money and get the Panasonic PV-GS31.

Reviews say it's the best in it's class, and it seems to have quite a bit of features for its price. Sorry that I've changed my mind :P , but I think I'll get a lot more use out of a Camcorder.

Is there a camera under 800 dollars that takes pictures quickly, like pressing the button and taking a picture then pressing it again very quickly and taking another picture? Meaning barely any shutter lag, because I want to take pictures of moving objects but it takes forever for digital cameras to take pictures.

The 6MP version of the Canon Rebel you should be able to get for under 800$ easy. Very good and easy-to-use SLR.

If you want a compact camera you will have some issues. Either it shoots really quick or it takes precautions against blur and being out of focus. Sony's W5 is a really nice/quick picture taker but I've had a lot of customers complain about their pictures being out of focus or blurred. Canon generally takes very good pictures and they have their assistant lamp on by default but they take longer to take the picture because of that.

Nikon has some good stuff in there as well. Just go to www.steves-digicams.com or www.dpreview.com and look at some of the camera reviews.
