Full Bright

For some reason my map is on fullbright, i am compiling with VIS, BSP and RAD and have tried different types of lights, what an i missing?
 
Look at the compile log and see if it's complaining about missing "lights.rad"
 
Check the map properties for the ambient light level. If the map type needs a map_info entity then add one or adjust its properties.
 
If you haven't already, restart HL2. After my HL2 runs a fullbright map, all maps it runs are fullbright.
 
I had this problem, and deleting the SDK and letting it redownload it solved it perfectly. Then again, that was because of an error within the lights.rad -- so if you're not getting that, perhaps don't bother.
