cant see it, someone want to rate it on awesomeness scale? how is rbert downey jr as Stark? believeable?

Never read any Iron Man comics, so I can't say how similar to Stark he is.

It does look quite kick-ass though, with a sense of humour. Obvious "CGI walk" at the end though. Effects other than that look very nice.

tony stark is a playboy/scientist (arent they all) who had a problem with alcohol ..also a bad heart ..oh and he was captured by vietcong during the vietnam war ..where he became ironman ..you know when as I type his origin I cant help think how stupidly silly this sounds

He seems a bit of a confident jackass. He presents some missile weapon (Jericho) to soldiers, then they're attacked and he gets captured by a bald guy. He spends time with an older guy with glasses building a suit then busts out. Definately seems like it's updated to modern times, not Vietnam.

The rest is him back to his normal life, but now he wants to protect people. Cue him testing out some suit designs and some coolio flying/crashing scenes.

Gwyneth Paltrow plays a ginger woman who seems to be the love interest.

There's also a guy with a gray beard who may be a bad guy, also has a suit.

I think it has potential. It certainly can't be any worse than DareDevil or Spidey 3.

bet that didnt test well with test audiences ..hell you cant have potential political messages in film that's too much to ask ..it's like how Call of duty went from real wars to made up wars in made up political landscapes just to be as non-offensive as possible

funny the Ironman wiki pages says this about Starks origin:

In the first version of his origin, Stark visits Vietnam (later updated to the Gulf War, and then later updated again to Afghanistan)

sounds generic ..oh well I dont know why I have hope in superhero movies ...ok there was Sin city but that was a fluke and wouldnt have been made by a major studio ..ok I sterring towards rant country again

Looks good to me so far.
They obviously had to update from Vietnam to Afghanistan unless they were going to set it 30 years ago/have Stark really old.
