What makes it even funnier is the fact that it isn't some outside activist group causing it (which is normally the case). The school is basically telling its students that it can't continue without allowing men.

Historically, the left has been on a mission to undo all of the cultural institutions that this country had that was based on or around the white christian heterosexual male or any combination thereof. In that pursuit they foced many all-male schools such as the Citadel to allow women.

Here, we have an all-girl school that realizes for financial reasons they need to increase their tuition base. Notice, this all-girl school hasn't been singled out by anyone on the left for being sexist. Now, since the school decided to let men enroll, the female students are ticked. These female students are normally the recipient of the various moves by the left that supposedly help create "equality". Here is a case where the school itself is doing away with a sexist enrollment policy (based on the left's definition) to help stay alive and the female student body is ticked. You see the hypocisy of the left's argument about "equality"?

But I'm not seeing anything to support what you're saying. The article says nothing about the left/right or any political group. All you're giving is conjecture. You've also managed to spin it into a smear of the left, even though there was pretty much nothing to base it off of.

No I do not see the "hypocisy"...
Nor do I see how this is a leftist agenda. As a matter of fact, it was the left that pushed for women's entrance in higher education. This seems like a college's choice for financial reason. I see no politics in this.

Wait... a college not being able to afford to exist because it only allows women and, thus, having to allow men to enroll in order to survive... is somehow the fault of liberals? If the government or lobbyists coerced them into enrolling men you could say they caved to pressure from liberals... but that's not the case. How does the current student population (who chose that school because of the female-only rule) complaining about a change in the school's traditions have anything to do with political bias?

I guess it could indirectly be blamed on liberals if you really want to stretch it, because most college-aged people (especially women) lean to the left... so, if there aren't enough students enrolling it probably (based on statistics) means that most of the lost money would be attributed to the lower number of liberals enrolling (even if conservatives enroll in proportionately low numbers).

In a nutshell, my "tongue-in-cheek" point was this. Shouldn't that college have already accepted men? Shouldn't there have been an outrage by the left groups like the ACLU for the exclusion of men on campus? Shouldn't there have been lawsuits and protests due to the inequality of the admission policies?

Personally, I don't have a problem with segregated schools based on sex, I think it can be a great thing. But, generally speaking, the left doesn't see it that way...unless it is an all female school, then it is ok.

But, again, I was being fairly light-hearted with this post.

Commenting on the article, i can understand why the women going there would be pissed, hell, I'm at VMI and though I wasn't here when women first integrated, I have seen the aftermath, and it isn't pretty, this place has lost a lot of what it used to be
Most of the women here don;t deserve to be here, they're just here to go here i guess, and while admittedly there are a lot of males here that are the same, most being NCAA athletes, females as a group have yet to impress, at all, there are maybe 1 or 2 who actually deserve to be here, the rest, well, they should leave
