all the people who slag off the 5900 ultra 256mb are pretty lame ive seen people say change ity for a ati radeon 9800 for better results im sorry but thats just wrong it might be pretty crap at the moment playing half life 2 (but new drivrers have made it better since valve done a frame count of cards) but it also plays games better the atis best now or forthecoming suchas doom 3 it also plays all of todays games as smooth as you could wish and will play future games just as good i mean half life 2 was coded around ati card so what do you expect im sorry but i think the 5900 is a sweet card (just a tiny bit overpriced):flame: :flame: :flame: :flame: :flame: :flame: :flame: :flame:

no one ever said it was crap u spaz, we/I just prefer ATI cards. Mainly because this IS! a HL2! community and its a FACT! that ATI! cards run FASTER! in HL2! than NVIDIA! cards, even if its by the smallest amount.

At the end of the day I don't care. Time will tell.

ATI seems better with HL2 while NVidia seems better with DOOM III. Its the only reason most of us prefer ATI here.

lol, that first post was funny, one giant run on sentence with no puncuation or capitalization :)

Anyhow, games don't run better on the FX 5900 ultra vs the Radeon 9800 pro.. well, in some cases it might, but it depends on the game, overall ATi is faster. Also, I've heard nVidia doesn't really run better in Doom 3 than ATi, in most cases it's equal or a little better (keep in mind nVidia and iD are working closely together for best results, they've done alot of codepath work for nVidia cards)

This has been discussed one too many times. All these threads are, especially after so many threads of the same thing, is flame bait. This will turn into a huge flamefest of arguing that nobody will win.
