Old DXs are bad >_>
Ive been using dx6 for a while
The flashbangs blind you completely for the entire duration of the effect
You dont get the after image see through thing; its just blindness for a long time
Plus certain areas i thought were completely pitch black; arent. -_-

It's not as simple as that. Obviously Dx 9.0c will be installed to play HL2, but if the graphics card only supports Dx7 effects, then you're screwed.

That card is DX7.. But the good news, is CS:S actually plays very well and doesn't look half bad on it now. All the horrid bugs from the beta were removed, so its good to know I can still play the games on this machine until I get the other hooked up to the net ie: find drivers..
