...Alrighty, I can't go into specifics...

But lets just say I keep getting a random blue screen of death, forcing me to shut down the PC and turn it back on (restarting seems to **** with the booting up...)

Every time I try to scan with Norton, after 5 minutes it gives the blue screen.

I'm really not sure what's causing it... I haven't done anything that would potentially put a virus on. :|

usually when you get BSOD and Windows reboots you get Windows "Fatal Error report" and you will have 2 options: whether to report this to Microsoft Windows Knowledge Base or to disregard and press "Don't report". If you report this most likely you will find out what caused the crash. It could be a virus but 99% of the time is incompatible, inappropriate and or corrupted driver.
This could be any driver (Video, sound, CD-ROM, monitor, mouse, Etc) causing this, drivers go bad sometime without any specific reason.
You can find what caused the BSOD by recording the time system crashed and right-clicking "My Computer, Manage, Even Viewer, System".
There, you can view everything that happened at any given time.
Also investing some money to buy some virus protection software is never a bad idea.

Good Luck.

While starting up press F8 and go into safe mode. Do a virus scan, spyware scan etc while in safe mode. Safe mode just loads up the bare minimum of stuff. Hopefully the virus wont decide to load up too and it should let you scan the comp.

If theres not any viruses found then it could be some corrupt file/driver somewhere like Barney said.

I just tried the safe mode thing, no luck...
It crashes without warning.
I can never finish a virus scan :|...

Damn it all, shit like this ALWAYS has to happen during a vacation! >.<

And it's official my hard drive just shit the bed, I'm on my secondary work PC atm.

umm it should say why your computer crashed ont he bsod or does it dissapear fast

No worries... Luckily I make boot disks every month.

:D
On a fresh 200gb hard drive... just came in today... along with a gig of ram :D!
