Even better than how I envisioned the future pocket computer many years ago.
The one thing missing that I imagined was an easy ability to control lights and appliances in your home. But this requires something installed in your home to receive commands remotely, so that's not a surprise.
But I can just imagine dimming the lights while you flick through the TV channels, turning on a pre-prepared pot of coffee, adjusting the thermostat/air conditioner/heat, turning on a ceiling fan - all from your smartphone.
This is already existing technology. In its most simple form, basically you would just need certain outlets to have a remote switch (lights/fan), or remote dimmer control. In its most advanced form, you could have the electronic thermostat interface appear on the phone.
