Game Controllers an HL2

Hi all,
Is it possible to use a gamepad with HL2 on a PC? The best I can do is 'Enable Joystick' which will let me walk around, but not shoot etc. I have Thrustmaster Dual Trigger Gamepad.

Joy2Key. It will cause the buttons on your joystick to emulate keyboard/mouse. Kind of hard to finetune, so spend some time messing with it and all of its options.

Just use a mouse. Gamepads are inferior for shooters.

I know I will get flamed for this, but I like the way that Halo has the gamepad set up. I get really bad hand cramps if I play with a mouse and keyboard too much, and I'm not bothered by a gamepad near as much. I would love to configure HL2 for a gamepad.

You're crazy. My hand hurts like hell with a big-ass XBOX controller in it. Even the S controllers hurt my hands.
