Game Freezes on Save

I just formatted my computer for the first time ever just so I could have a clean start for this game, and it still freezes. It seems the only time it freezes is during a save. Whether an auto-save or quicksave, it just randomly freezes. I really have no idea why, I have a decent system and every setting is where they reccomend. The game doesn't skip at all unless I try raising any graphics settings. My system is as follows:

Soyo Dragon 2 Platinum MB
p4 2.8ghz 800mhz FSB
1024mb DDR memory
ATI All-In-Wonder 128mb DDR
SoundBlaster Audigy 2 Platinum
60gig WD HD

I hardly see any reason for the game to freeze seeing as the settings are as reccomended. Is anyone else having this problem or doers anyone know how to fix it? I've never had this problem with any game but this one.

Is it that bad if the game freezes during auto-save?

Yeah, who wants to hit the reset button everytime they save? It still makes the save, but it freezes the instant it goes to save, i don't even get any confirmation of the game being saved.

Hmmm, well to disable auto save there is a startup command you can use. Not sure what it is though. Can you ctrl alt delete or alt tab to get out of it?
