Well, its been quite a day. Trying to buy Half Life2 online, only to have it fail and make a last minute sprint to Frys. Then, Steam crapped out, so I had to restart my computer about 3 times before t worked. Finally it starts, but holy crap, some character models strech as far as my crosshair if it is near them. It can even be across the screen! I REALLY do not want his to be my impression of Half Life2, so I would very much appreciate help. My memory is sufficient, and I even turned model graphics to "low", and nothing. Everything else looks normal. Please, if you can help, do so! ;(

This one should be pretty easy. Likely that somehow the installation got corrupted which is why you're seeing these errors with the models.

To verify that all your files are intact and also to repair them if they aren't, just click this link: steam:\\validate\220

This will go through and check your files and if they differ at all from the version on Valve's content servers then it will automatically update and repair the relevant files. Bare in mind that this can take 10 minutes to do and will need an internet connection.

Let us know how this works.

Also, what are your full system specs? Gfx card, processor and memory?
