I HAVE A SOLID SYSTEM AND MY GAME IS STILL LAGGY! PLEASE HELP!!!!
I got HL2 off of the Steam server (i bought it online and downloaded it). I started playing the other day and as of then, my system was as follows:
Dell Dimension 8250
2.8 GHz
512 MB RAM
64 MB NVIDIA GeForce4
>256 DSL connection
Audigy 2 Sound Card
(let me know if you need anymore specs)
Anyway, so i started playing on all medium settings with 1024x768 resolution, and about every 10-15 seconds it the video and audio would skip (it makes a sound like when you downsize the game mid game and it repeats the same sound a few times). it would get worse when there was a lot of activity (not a lot worse)
I had orded a new video card before I even started playing, so I decided to wait to get my new vid card before playin any more. I got my new card today and it is a :
ATI Radeon 9800 Pro 128MB
I installed it and updated all the drivers and my game is still just as choppy/skippy. No matter what my setting are set at, it still does it. PLEASE HELP!
