Game of the year edition problem..

i brought a game of the year edition of half life 2 distributed by wordwide cd-roms in india.The installation does not happen..It just asks for all the steps and the directory to be installed and then it shows like its searching for the net or something .nothing happens after that.wanna know if net connection is needed during isstallation or only after it..also wat can be the problem iam facing?thanx..:frown:
