Im going to the store today to pick up a new game. Theres 4 that I am intresting in getting, but I dont have the money to get all of them. So I wanted to get some recomendations before I go.

SC:CT
God of War
Dawn of War
Devil May Cry 3

Clearly, Dawn of War. Even though I haven't played it since I completed it...but thats because of Rome: Total War and my recent dis-interest in games.

I was thinking I would get Dawn of war, or God of war. None of the SC games I played impressed me that much, the stories were rather boring.

God of War or DMC 3 - you'll be very happy with either :)

Strange you recomend both console only games. Anyway I think Im going to pickup god of war at the store, and then order dawn of war off the net I found it for like $30.

Dawn of War is good fun, but if you're into stealthy stealthy... SC is probably a good move. :)

I like the gameplay of SC, its pretty fun. My problem is I dont really get into a game unless it has a good story (besides MP games), and so far the SC games had a bland story. It was like great you completed the mission, heres your next one go do it.

God of War. The review have been so good for it. I'm going to be picking it up soon.

I have the three console titles and here's my take:

SCCT - SP is pretty cool (so far nothing has made me go "WOW" just yet but it's fun) - If you have live and liked the SCPT mp you'll love this - Co-op is cool too for split screen or xbl

God of War - Only SP but it's solid. I just beat it on normal yesterday, played the Challenge of the Gods today (some of those levels are a bitch) and now I just started God Mode which I'm a bit disappointed in. They basically made all enemies 3x harder to kill and made them do 3x more dmg. This would be fine with me if they let you use all your upgrades you had at the end of your previous run-through. I still plan to stick it out to the end but it can be really annoying having guys kill you in like 3 hits and bosses killing you in 2. Lots of blocking and rolling. The story is pretty good. I like how you learn more and more about Kratos as you go along and I love the greek mythology background.

It took me just over 7 hours to beat the SP my first time through. I saw the gamespot video of the creator saying his fastest tester beating it in like 17 hours and that's blazing fast...uhhh ok...game developers must hire some crappy testers or something because I didn't think I blew through the game. I took my time checking out secrets and getting as many upgrades as I could. Normal mode isn't very difficult. You'll die on some of the jumping puzzles and maybe a few times throughout the rest of the game...but not much.

Devil May Cry 3 - Definitely has more depth than God of War in terms of combat and upgrades if you ask me. Also much harder. I haven't played this one in a bit because I was playing God of War - I'm gonna pick it up again tomorrow I think. I'm playing through on normal on the American version (Japanese Hard) and it's tough. I'm almost done with the game. I'm on lvl 18 I think. There's 20 levels. Boss fights are fun and tough as hell. I've been going back via level select to previous levels to replay some fights and level up my style and weapons more. This one is definitely a challenge. I know for a fact that once you beat this you can play a harder difficulty with your current equipment and I definitely plan to do just that. There are lots more weapons and ways to upgrade than God of War which is cool. There are attacks you level up, styles to level up and items to buy. In God of War I just upgraded the chaos blades and the artemis blade all the way then hades. That's all I needed. It was a total of like 8 upgrades between all 3 items whereas in DMC3 there can be like 6-8 upgrades on one devil arm alone so there's definitely more room for specialization on certain weapons.

I have played DMC3 for like 14-15 hours and I'm not even done yet. There's plenty for me to come back for. I still have 3 styles to upgrade to lvl 3 (I gotta see those lvl 3 attacks :) ) and weapons to upgrade some more.

Sooo... if you're looking for lasting appeal on MP - SCCT is your best bet of the 3 console titles (DMC3 technically has MP but you need to enable Super Dante mode and use doppleganger style - then 2nd player presses start and can play beside you). There's 4 co-op missions to go through, each probably taking about an hour or so your first time through. Then there's vs mode which is tons of fun. I got a bit tired of it myself because I've been playing it since SCPT came out.

For a damn good action SP experience go for DMC3 as long as you're up for a challenge. You'll die quite a bit unless you know what you're doing walking into this one...but the challenge is a welcome one to me in this day of mainstream games that have gotten gamers soft.
