Game won't load/no dialog boxes explaining why

When I try to load the game all I get is a fuzzy loading screen then all of a sudden my computer makes one of those "do'h" sounds and it goes back to my desktop without any dialog box explaining what the problem is. PLEASE HELP ME!!!

512 MB RAM
Diect X 9.0c

What graphics card do you have? I've seen people who have on board chipsets reporting this problem; realistically you need either an ATI or Nvidia card.
