Ok, i fixed my compiling error now i get another... *sigh*
Once i've finished compiling my map Half-Life 2 starts to run but then just before starting it get an error saying "gameinfo.txt does not exist in C:\documents" I'm not sure if there should be a copy of gameinfo.txt in the maps folder in my mod directory.

I have attached screenshots of the error, where my gameinfo.txt is located in my mod directory, and a text document of the log hammer creates while it compiles.

By the way, i haven't got my mod directory in C:\documents like the error says. Do i have to put my mod directory in steams folders somewhere or can i save it anywhere?

Thanks for any help.

I got this prob too, the only way it worked was to manually copy the compiled bsp file to the hl2/maps - hl2dm/maps, load the game and load from the console. It seems compiling has some issues.

Ok, i understand.

Still, if anyone knows how to fix this problem please let me know.

I just save the maps in cs source maps and it works smooth...

I'm having some gameinfo.txt problems myself.

SteamingPile just updated my SDK section and it is my first time setting up WC...Hammer....for HL2 configuration. (The first time I opened Hammer a week or so ago, i was set up and ready to go without even going into the options).

This time it is telling me:

gameinfo.txt doesnt' exsist in E:\ProgramFiles...blah, blah, blah,...sourcesdk\hl2

That is the error upon opening Hammer.

Yeah me too.

Well I assume its supposed to be in "Program Files" not "ProgramFiles", which doesnt exist. So you need to change that (you might need to put " " around it for spaces to work, can't remember).

On the start up of hammer the first time I had that error too, I just directed it to the Half-Life 2/hl2 folder and it worked otherwise I had no NPC entities.
