"An 18-year-old North Braddock man playing video games with three longtime friends inexplicably turned a gun on the group Wednesday evening, shooting two of them to death, police said yesterday.

Allegheny County homicide detectives moved quickly on the case, arresting Erskine Smith yesterday at a girlfriend's home in McKeesport and charging him with the double homicide of Jonathan Hutson, 19, and Daniel Underwood, 17.

The four were playing "Madden 2006," a PlayStation2 football video game, when a minor squabble broke out. Police said they did not know what the argument was about.

"It seemed to be OK," Assistant Superintendent Morton said. "Then all of a sudden, something went wrong."

Apparently it was a robbery. Thats pretty ****ing stupid considering he could have taken it without killing them. could have taken it from somewhere else also. Im sorry but if some crazy neighbor pulls out a gun and wants my PS2, i'd be like, "enjoy!"

I find it a little ironic and unsensitive that there are football advertisements along the side of the news article

sounds to me like he killed the 2 and then took the playstation

Possibly he intended the killing, or at least shooting, all along, and was just waiting for the moment.

not very bright of him to let one of them go to the can while he shot the other 2 ..nah he probably killed them because they kept saying "OWN3D!!!111" after every touchdown

i live in pittsburgh, which is in allegheny county. this practically too place in my backyard. the instructor for one of my classes (criminalistics) is a deputy coroner here, im sure he'll tell us about this one next class.

Why does the media feel the need to bring up the games as if they mattered? There's always this implication that a game played a part of it. "Man goes on a killing spree! He owned an X-BOX!" the headlines scream.

Why do I never see anything like "Man goes on a murder rampage! The night before, he ate CHICKEN and BEEF with side of SEASONED VEGETABLES. Authorities are investigating a possible connection."

That's actually the sole thing that pisses me off while I'm gaming : Stupid ****wads that can't keep their ego to themselves and just HAVE to yell their victory out loud in my face.
 
Yeah, but it's great when you're the one doing it.

Gaming with my buddies wouldn't be half as fun if we didn't piss each other off. Playing a Halo match and watching everybody get pissed is bliss.

It's fun if you use it moderatly, though :p
 
Meh, most of my friends who are into gaming are utterly ruthless when it comes to trash-talking and nose-rubbing. I guess I just grew accustomed to it.

It's a nice payoff when they lose though.

LMAO hell ya @ all

Me and my friend used to play Mortal Kombat 2 all the time. He won more often than me and he would rub it in my face the whole time, it used to get me so F N mad. I mean he would brag so hard, it got old. He used to insult me and everything.

It was so sweet when i would go on a winning streak, omg seeing him get upset was rediculous.

He was this confident "im better than you" kind of guy and he would turn into a little baby when I would win.

I would say, "yea what? what happend! omg did your "controller break" again? ," I'm better than you now! I figured out what I was doing wrong and I doubt you'll win again", "You look like you are getting a little angry" omg he would get furious. LOLz

HAHAHA priceless!

But we were always high on blunts so its not likely we would do anything violent.
