games crashes with high settings

I got my 8800GTS installed and set my HL2 settings to 1600x1200 with max aa and max af with hdr if available. All other settings are for max quality. This card runs it great. The problem I have occurs when it needs to load a new map. When this happens the games crashes with a generic windows message. Any ideas what I need to do to get it to stop this?

Best first step wouldbe to reinstall the game

I did that and validated the files. I am wondering if I have the graphics too high and it runs out of vram when it tries to load the new map.

no i highly doubt you don't have enough vram. try updating drivers or messing with different drivers to get the best performance.

Here is the exact error. There are only a couple of drivers that I can try with this card right now.

It's likely a driver problem. There's poor support for the 8800's atm.

try udating ur drivers.. 93.71 is the latest one 4 nvidia cards.
