Games worth buying

I'm the type of game buyer that if I cant get extended game play value I wont buy the game. That usually means I'll only buy games that have either exceptional reviews or has a lot of replay value (a great mp or good mods)

my list of games worth buying that came out in the last year or so (it's short)

Far Cry
Battlefield Vietnam
RTCW enemy territory (it's free but I would have paid for it)

my future games worth buying (although I cant really comment on game play cuz they havent been released)

Half life2 (of course)
Medal of Honor Pacific Assualt
Stalker
SW Battlefront
Halo 2
Fable (maybe)

I totally agree on Far Cry; an awesome game that really was needed after a long time full of uninteresting titles coming out.

Most of those seem to get their longevity from the fact that they're multiplayer. For a single player experience that will last you a while to 100% I'd suggest Ratchet and Clank 2. Blowing crap up is more the fun the bigger the gun gets.

Doom 3, you can't forget. I've got a choice right now- Buy Far Cry now, or wait and get Doom 3. I only have enough money for one (I have an ATi voucher for HL2) My friend says I should get Far Cry, but I never listen to him anyway. He even admits he doesn't like Doom 3 because it's too scary. Of course that's what I'm counting on, Doom 3 looks way cooler than Far Cry but I would have to wait. What would you guys recommend?

far cry has shite gameplay, but is stilla great game. i have it, and i would say its better than doom 3. IMO, doom3 looks shit and i wont be touching it with a 5 foot pole. who needs graphics anyway...

Wait... how could it be a good game if the gameplay is shit? Anyway, Doom 3 looks good because it's a more mature, high-tech and scarier version of the old game I played (or tried to, I had no motor skills yet and it took the collective wit of my cousin and me to find those keys, lol) as a six-year-old.

Okay, if graphics don't matter and Far Cry has "shite gameplay," but you still think it's a great game...I'm confused...I don't see what you could possibly like about Far Cry...

Well, I like Halo and all, but i hated the PC version, it was just shoddily done and I dont think I got all thats in it because of the stupid crap coding. I would say that Unreal 2004 is the game to get, it has awesome gameplay and all the new stuf in it is awesome.

If you don't have Black and White you should get it. I bought it a few years ago and I didn't like it but I have started playing it again and it is tons of fun, I have played atleast 30 hours and I am only about half way through(I take my time though, and I am playing as a good god).
