I agree WoW is great and should be good competition for HL2 as GOTY. Although personally I would still vote HL2. I think both are about perfect too.

By the way, I'm currently playing WoW and HL2 Single/Multi (still).

Hmm... looking on the bright side, at least they had the spine to pick a PC game for GOTY, unlike Gamespy: "We don't like Halo 2 SP as much as HL2, or the MP as much as UT2004 but MS will give us some good lovin' if we say it's GOTY, so anyway".

WoW is a great game. But WoW and Hl2 are two totally different games. i think WoW is the best mmorpg ever and i also think that HL2 is the best FPS of the year. They are in 2 different genres so its really hard to say which is better. That being said, i like FPS' more so i think HL2 is GOTY

I strongly disagree as well. I was a huge Warcraft III player, participated in WoW beta but overall, I think that HL2 is a much better game. WoW is certainly the best MMORPG on the market right now but I really don't think it deserved GOTY from a site as big as Gamespot. :/

Oh well, HL2 is GOTY in my eyes.. that's all that matters :hmph:

You could complete HL2 25 times over on hard before you even get to level 30 in WoW. HL2 is a good game but it isn't better than WoW in fun-ness, art, feel or anything else, except for SP and graphics...only because WoW has no SP and is 200 times the size of HL2.

I was a big fan of HL2 before its release...i was'nt hyping the game so not to be disapointed but yet i still feel disapointed....it annoys me to no end to see some HL2 fanboy bitch and whine about FarCry and its story when HL2 is equally as ****ing wank as FarCry's story...let alone HL2 has one way or the high way.

HL2 will have good mods...thats it. It had good SP, but thats long gone...6 years work for less than 30 hours gameplay on hard and no replayability...what-so-ever. At least in FC i am faced with the option to take a different route.

Get over it, HL2 isn't half the game HL1 was. I'll be surprised if anyone even remembers HL2 this time next year.

For the books...No!, i don't hate HL2, i liked the game but its nothing to get excited about.
