Is half-life 2 being unlocked on steam today?

I am not trying to put false info out on the web or get peoples hopes up but I just was wandering if others out there have seen this and know what is going on. The release date for half-life 2 is November 16. However if you go to gamespot.com on the fount page at the top there is a count down clock for half-life 2 and it is less then 7hr away. Under the count down clock it says left until launch? Now I bought an ATI video card a while ago and have a key code for half-life 2 that came with it. I have installed steam on my system and have downloaded the pre-installed files witch were around 2-3GB. Now I have e-mailed gamespot to try to find out what this launch message means but have not gotten a response from them yet. It could mean that in six hr’s the rest of the article for half-life 2 will be available or maybe steam will unlock the game for the online people like me? Does any one out there know what this is all about? Just very confused.

Thanks Frost for your responce. I wasn't shour what it was talking about. When the word launch is used it is a bit missleading. Thanks for clearing it up for me.

On gamespot they said that the final hours of Half-life 2 will be on their site at approx. 3:30PST.
