A better site would be gamestats.com, which basically has all the reviews of a particular game from all sorts of media: including sites/mags/T.V shows.

Game ratings are deceiving. Awesome games often get lower than expected ratings.

Diablo 2 - 88%
Starcraft - 92% (may seem high, but it is underrated)
Age of Empires - 88.4%

Those are just a couple of examples. The rating a game gets today does not really tell if a game is worth the hype.

I'm talking from my point of view. I have played it through once and I doubt I'll ever play they SP again; the MP will amuse me for a while (with the neat mods), but sooner or later it'll dissapear into one of my drawers. Games like HL, the Zelda series, StarCraft kinda refuese, for me at least, to dissear in some old drawer.

Again, at least in my circle of friends, that is the feeling. Doom 3 is great, but missed that 'will be remembered 10 years from now' feeling. Hell, the major thing it had going for it was graphics and Unreal 3 already is grabing peoples attention. tHere is no game announced yet to compete with HL's strong points (STALKERS comes in viewing distance).

In agree, It wont be remember like HL is now remembered as Groud Breaking and legendary.

I think it will always be remmebered, and if a bunch of high class games are made using the engine, it'll be remembered even more.
