im in the market for some good headphones
ill be mainly using them for games and also a little bit for music
i have a sb live! 5.1 soundcard atm
any suggestions??

I suggest the plantronics gamecom pro. it has a mic,and its plugs into USB ports! Havent used my 5.1 speakers w/subwoofer ever since I got them.

As I've recommended many times before, anything Sennheiser.

I recommend the Sony's in my sig... The MDR-X400 or whatever they are... Someone asked a similar question a while ago and I think a couple of people ended up buying these on my recommendation and had nothing but great things to say. Sennheisers probably sound the best if you want to spend in the below $50 range. Above that, I think they are still great, but there's a lot less value.

can someone kindly explain to me what noise cancellation is and why it isnt part of every modern headset?

noisce cancellation is removing surround noises around you so you can only hear what the headphones are putting out.

and the reason why its not in every modern headset because people either hate the poofyness/feeling of them, or would also like to hear if other people in the house or area are talking to them

i see, thanks:smoking:

Bleh... 5.1 headphones are never worth it.
I had a pair of the newer Turtle Beach ones and I RMA'ed it.

Toms have a good review of most modern sets here. I'm personally planning on getting a pair of the medusa's at some point.

Sennheiser all the way, supposedly excellent quality and decent noise cancellation.

Speakers FTW though :smoking:

i live in an apartment building with terrible soundproofing :rolling:\

thanks for the link

I have Sennheisers for my iPod (the HD 280s) and love 'em. Really excellent soundquality, blocks out all noise, not batteryguzzlers... great. For my PC headphones, I have Zalman 5.1's, and I also love those.

Hey those Steel Sound 5Hs don't look too shabby...
The price though...no thank you heh.

-Angry L... aah f*ck it
