I'll be asking for a nice pair of gaming headphones for the upcoming holidays/my birthday, so I'm looking for some recommendations. The specs:
- over-ear (not earbuds)
- comfortable to wear for longer periods of time (2-4 hrs or so)
- excellent sound quality
- upper end of my price range is ~$100
- a little heft is okay, as long as it's not like wearing a brick hat
- surround sound is optional - i don't have it now, so I won't miss it if it ain't there. I'd almost prefer superior sound quality over having surround sound
- does not require a preamp or additional device to be purchased to work its best (extra pieces are OK if they're included in the package)
- Headphones, not a headset - I've got a separate mic I use.
Any suggestions? Preferably people recommending stuff they've already got/use?
