Which one to build:
A- asua M2N32-SLI with BFG 7900GT 256mb X 2, Corsair twin2x2o48-6400c3, maxtor 11 400gb sata with AMD2 yet to be determined but it will have to be one of the faster ones, or

B- asus A8N32-sli same BFG 7900 video cards, corsair twin 2048-3200c2/ddr400, same hard drive and AMD FX60 X2.

I am not sure there is going to be much of a gain by going with the AMD2and the increased costs. Besides the AMD2 cpu's aren't proven yet where the other is.

well, the AMD FX60 just dropped about $250 on newegg, and the AMD2's are probably going to be rediculously expensive... and I did hear somewhere that the performance gain isn't even going to add that much performance.

I agree.
The FX-55 and 57 are the most powerful chips (In single task) ADM made, that are affordable. And if you jack up HTT by 200 (which is easily doable on FX55) then you got yourself a FX-57 and still saved another extra $200.

Good Luck.

I hear Maxtor drives are shitty, go with a Western Digital drive or something.
The 10,000 rpm models look pretty cool, I'd get one of those.

How much $$$ are you planning to spend on this machine?

BUT....the memory controller on the FX-55 is, in a way, "Broken." as a result, the fx-57 gives much better performance

Overclock only if you have to. Overclocking screws up some games like HL 2.

Explain that please.

You may be talking about Intel chips, all of my AMD were OC-ed all the time and I never had any problem with em. But a man has to know his limitations....(Clint Eastwood a.k.a Dirty Harry). You have to know the limitations. Every CPU has a wall.
