Gaming weaknesses

What are you real weaknesses when it comes to games, like for example something you KNOW will be rubbish, but you'll still play it or something that just makes you love a game for no particular reason - my weakness is, bizarrely enough..

... Pinball games, I just like playing them even the rubbish one on my phone :|

I suck at RTS games, but I still love playing them.

Same... i like them... but i can never get a steady cash flow. Same with games like the Sims... they end up dying (usually in a comic way... i.e. fireworks in the house party ^_^)

My weakness is for Nintendo hardware and games that come with different packaging. Everytime a new colour or limited edition GBA/DS/GC/GB micro comes out I have to hide my credit card. It's best not to think about all the lovely colours the Rev will come out in.

Black and White is another sore point - I ended up buying the good and evil copy of the game as well as 3 copies of Edge (each one had a different B&W cover). I don't even like the game.

I love valve and steam, so if a game is released over steam I am very likely to buy it. My only true weakness....

I play every racing game that doesn't surround one type of car (like Corvette, or that shitty Hummer racing game) and most of the time they suck, but a few stick out like Forza Motorsport and PGR2/3 (not the need for speed games, those are too arcadey, no real feeling)

I just love puzzle games.

Tetris on the Gameboy stole many hours of my life. As did Wetrix on the N64. Now I'm seriously considering getting a PSP solely for Lumines.

I to like puzzle games. I played this game on a Linux PC at Uni, but can't for the life of me remember what it was called. It's some Japenese game where there's a pile of domino shaped pieces with images on them and you have to pair them up.

I also like Tetris too.

Anyway my only weakness are wierd original japanese games, I have many imports, many more torrented. I'm a sucker for original indi games. Even though most of them don't hold my attention for more then an hour.

I have a very understanding girlfriend who over the last 10 years has learnt to accept these little eccentricities. And yeh, I sell most things (although I really don't want to), usually for a profit. Girls like Nintendo anyways - who doesn't? :thumbs:

I used to share your weakness for original Japanese games too, especially during the snes days. Expensive hobby this.

I rarely buy games... And if I do I make sure it's good before I get it. So I guess I don't have any weaknesses. Then again, it's not exactly easy to be impulsive because I don't have my own credit card and everything I buy my parents have to confirm it, and it's never pretty.

My bigest weekness is games that I WANT to play

For instance, I WANT to play X3 and I WANT to play Oblivion because I know they are so vast. I want to get totaly involved in the game, get into my own little world and play it for a week 24 hours a day.

However, i'm a 4th year computing student and don't have a minute of free time to even go for a pee let alone get past the first level in X3

Still sits in my drive waiting for me to give it the attention is deserves

My weakness is playing games on full graphical settings, even when my system can`t handle it and it it plays like crap, for example, I`m playing condemned now, running it at full settings, and getting a slideshow.

Then again, I tried playing on the lowest settings, and still got a slideshow, so I may as well run it at max.

Yes, if I WERE impulsive and had lots of money, I would buy lots of WW2 games, and highly tactical games too.

i'm one of those annoying people who say 'oh hell yes, more gritty world war II action!' rather than 'oh god another ww2 game' whenever a new game/mod is announced.

so yeah, world war 2 games of any sort are my weakness.

Sound.

I don't know why, but a game with good sound gets ranked up by about 50 points on my "OMG AWESOME!" chart.

Take Vampire: The Mascarade Bloodlines. I couldn't care about the glitches or anything because the sound was just awesome beyond belief. And the game was good too.

Oh and also, Act Of War. Finally a RTS that has units shout at you when they're damaged and stuff.

Oh and the Navy battles in High Treason? Well worth the £20. Its just a shame they're not in the skirmish

Convincing my self I love RPG's and space sim games because their so vast, then play them and go "Ah, this isnt actually fun at all" oops

Oh and Half Life, I mean I don't find it that fun and can never play through it more then once, yet for some reason keep spouting it off as the best game ever
