Hey, following my previous thread (HERE) in the hardware section on what to upgrade my computer to a much more Source friendly computer, I made that upgrade and after alot of problems I eventually got up and running ok with source games installed (with an annoying probling steam disconnecting every 5 mins when downloading source games).

So I finally went to download garrys mod, it downloads and downloads the full 26.0mb. I go to install I get the following error message -

NSIS-error.jpg

What I have tried -

Downloaded again and again
Searched the web, alot of people have had this problem with gmod, but for some reason ive found no answer?
Tried downloading to a different location
Checked for trojans, viruses with a number of programs
All firewalls switched off
Tried downloading in IE and Mozilla
Cleared Cookies, Cache
I have made sure ive played HL2 and HLDM and all Soruce games to be sure
Downloaded from a different website, server
Reset modem, router ( didnt know what elese to do)
Screamed "WHY?" repeadily and banged head against keyboard, no effect.

So any ideas on how to fix this would be great, Gmod was my most played source game and now... It wont install. I am linking it to the stupid network shit on my motherboard, since all the problems I have had so far are to do with my network connection, I'm talking about the NVFirewall, dam its a pain. Although I have made sure it is OFF and everything is OFF. Also if anyone can think of something that I might not have configured when upgarding thats casung this (these) problems please post.

Specs -
Windows XP Pro Service Pack 2
AMD Athlon 64 3500+
Asus A8N-SLi SE nForce4 SLi Motherboard
Corsair 2GB DDR
256Mb ASUS 7900GT GPU
40GB HDD

Thanks for any info! :)

EDIT - BTW, reason i posted this here and not the Gmod forums is beacuase I think its alot friendly here, plus there has been alot of posts about this problem over the Gmod forums (I searched there), yet no solution, but I would still get flamed to search, even though I have.

NVM - I didnt find the problem but I got it working, for anyone searching for this I used another computer to download it and copied the installed onto a cd and worked perfectly :smoking: .

I heard another solution which is downloading the latest Windows Installer but this didnt work for me, although it might for anyone elese with the problem.
