Ughh, couldnt decide between Off Topic or Politics forum, but I figured it would end up down the political path somewhere down the line...

Anyways, what are gas prices in your area right now? (USD if you wouldnt mind). The cheapest station around me is 2.11$ and I hear we may hit 3.00$ by the summer. I say we speed up the production of those hydrogen cars!

Any Europeans that post, would you mind giving an average price followed by the current price? I know that your prices are always much higher, but I dont know how much higher.

Keep in mind they measure their gas in liters. Last time I was in Canada it was extremely high, something like $3-$4USD a liter. Gas here is around $2.30.

Gas prices have remained pretty stable taking into account inflation, the cost of living and wages, since the oil shocks of the 1970s. That is, the price of everything around us has gone up a lot higher than gasoline has.

I'm talking about gas prices in the USA. Not in Europe.

Without taxes, gasoline is not that expensive. Its the taxes on top that make it so.

Well , with peak oil just around the corner , todays petrol prices will soon look like the golden good `ol days.
And dont count on hydrogen to save you, its little more than an expensive battery.

I've seen it was low as $2.15 or so this past week and as high as $2.40 for regular.

I was replying to the first post.

I heard that gas is a lot more expensive in Europe than it is in North America, so you won't hear me complaining.
Right now gas is about $0.95 / L where I live.

Yeah BC. Are you saying $1 is a good or bad thing? How much is it where you live?

Canada pwnz you all in gas prices. I live in Sudbury ontario and I have 96 cents per litre or $3.63 per gallon so consider yourself lucky you are "ONLY" paying $2.11 when we have been over $3 for a long time.

No mere wall can insurmount my patriotism and conservative zeal.

heheh, that was actually quite funny

$1.6/litre

Why can't everybody use the metric system? I know that our is about 3 times as expensive as yours, and a convertor says $7.27/gallon. If that's true, then your gar prices are ridiculous low.

could a larger pair of sunglasses?

Fuel is extorsionate at the moment. the imbalance of production to demand is to blame, I understand American fuel is subsidised which makes it cheaper... as far as I understand anyway fuel is dark age stuff, there's no need for it anymore if new technology is ushered in by the powers that be.

i pay about 2.60 a gallon
But since i only use about 4 or 5 a month
I'm okay with whatever they make it

i live in the lower middle of bc, and we are sitting at 99.8 cents per litre, and we are only like that because vancouver is sitting at the same thing.

But vancouver has a shit load more taxes on gas than we do. if you goto hope, and area, suposivly its still around 79-87 cents.

god damn gready bastards

on a side note, i cant wait to get my motorbike on the road, and my mountain bike in shape.

i could barely afford gas at 80 cents when i had insurance

$2.30 US here in good ol' PA. Wow. Gas prices are amazingly high. I heard we will hit $3.20 by summer.

mmm, i live in michigan, and the lowest i have seen for the past couple days was 2.34, but mostly 2.43, and higher... : (

Lowest i've seen is 2.01 and that was at one of the gas stations on the state line between alabama and florida.

It happened today! Where I live gas has now risen over $1/L! :(

Pff, American people, stop shouting about prices that are at 2 dollars per gallon. WE in scandinavia HAPPILY pay 6 dollars per gallon.

I'm sure you don't mean "happily".
I think it's more like "WE in scandinavia UNHAPPILY pay 6 dollars per gallon".

What do you pay in Finland?

I'm so furious when I see you complain about how you pay almost nothing for gas. Trust me, $2/gallon is nothing.

No, happily. The normal price is $7-8/gallon.

You Canandians are lucky. The gas prices here is like $2.29 just about. :(

but remeber

1 US gallon = 3.7854118 litre

so 1 gallon would cost 3.78 cents at $1 per litre

so your better off, without adding exchange rate

Any one hurd that Bush did?

In alaska he opened part of one of those animial reservation thingys, to get oil.. And we aren't exporting any of it : p we are keeping it to our selfs, to get lower gas prices..

I herd this from my econ teacher...

Your gas prices are already so incredibly low. Why do they have to be lower?
