Okay... this is all mumbo jumbo to mine unleet eyes. Anyone know how this would stack up against other brands of 9800 pro? I'm not looking for an absolute tops card, just something to run HL2 well on medium settings will do me.

Basically, it's not a piece of crap is it? ie - I asked about another auction on a Gecube card in the IRC channel, and learned that the card was only 128-bit, which was apparently bad. Just anything like this.

Peace  thanks.

It looks like the 256 bit memory bus version. Looks good then.

If you are just looking for HL2 on medium settings, a 9600 XT is a cheaper solution. A 9800 Pro will play HL2 on all settings maxed. The 9800 Pro will give you more future proofing with upcoming games however.

128mb is standard. there is absolutely no need to buy a 256mb card, as they are more expensive and the performance is barely noticable.

never heard of Gecube, so i personally wouldnt go for it, but i would go for a known brand instead...but thats just me lol :E

Pureball, it's 128MB, 256-bit.

blah, I was gonna go for the 9600XT for a while but I'd rather invest a little more and future proof a little. My card at current is a GF4MX 440... the horror...

I'm probably gonna go for it, thanks for the help guys.
