When ever i run somehting graphic intensive my computer crases. My GeForce 6800 Ultra's temperures are at around 70 degrees. is this normal? my ambient (case) temperture is around 50. could this be the reason for the slow down?

For example i run 3dMark 2003 it runs fine util i gt to the mother nature test where the thing jus freezes.

What's you power supply? Crashing when trying to run a game or a graphics extensive app is a sign that your power supply is too weak. A 6800 Ultra needs a 480 watt power supply.

The tempertures for your 6800 Ultra sound about right. Graphics cards can run hotter than CPU's without any problems.

How many case fans do you have and do you know what your ambient temperture of your case is?

Your power supply could be another problem (anything above 400 Watts should be okay). A quality power supply is recommend for the 6800 ultra. Make sure your graphics card is using 2 molex plugs. You may want to try another different molex plug on a seperate line. The 6800 Ultra needs 2 molex plugs for amps, not watts.

Is this a new rig or did you add the 6800 Ultra to computer that had a different graphics card? If you did, download a driver cleaner and remove all traces of graphics card drivers. Uninstalling a graphics card (and its drivers) doesn't completely uninstall it.

its a new rig. my power supply is only 350w. i only have outtaje fan and a fan in my
pwer supply.

If i buy a new power saupply how could i installl it in my Pc? woould i have to screw it in and then connect all the molex connectors. or will the be drivers and other things....is there any good power supply you could recommend

350 Watts is on the very low end for running a 6800 Ultra. That sounds like your problem.

As for uninstalling and reinstalling a power supply, it is pretty easy. You just turn it off (the switch on the power suplly), remove all of the molex plugs and then unscrew the power supply from the case (4 screws on the back of the power supply and another 4 screws attaching it to the case, obvious once you see it). Remove the power supply, put the new one in and plug in all of the power connectors again and you are good to go.

This is an awesome power supply. This power supply can run really quiet as long as you install the fan controller (included). The fan controller uses a PCI slot though, but it is worth it to reduce the noise. At its lowest setting, the power supply make no noise.

That's pretty cheap for a nice Thermaltake like that one too.

i bought it from a UK compnay called Carrera. The computer is their Octan 6800. It comes with the card all for £1000
