Well, ever since I uninstalled Steam and reinstalled Steam from Steampowered because it crashed if I attempted to install of the Half-Life 2 disc, I've been able to play Source games, which is all well and good.
However.
I've found that I've now contracted a) The Infamous stutter-bug, possibly and b) Games load very very slowly, especially in the Steam section "Now Launching: Half-Life 2" or whatever. The stutter-bug doesn't actually happen in multiplayer games like Counterstrike or HL2Deathmatch, but it does occur fairly frequently in Episode One or Half Life 2 vanilla, or even in Half Life Source. Just a second ago, my PC rebooted when I tried to launch Episode One. Now, i only have 1 gig of RAM, but that was true before Steam started going crazy.
I've already validated files but I cbf'd reinstalling Steam again because I'm on 128k.
