i didn't say bush was gonna lose...i just tried to make it clear i don't like him. he raped my dog!!!

Possible Explanation?

"Last week's simultaneous outages for GeorgeWBush.com and RNC.org prompted speculation that an electronic attack may have occurred, as the two sites are hosted on separate web servers," Miller said in a statement posted on Netcraft's Web site. "The Bush campaign told media the outage was "no big deal" and offered no specific explanation for the outage."

Preventing an attack from outside the United State to make sure the website can stay up the last week of campaigning?

I deny it.

God its true he really is going to win the election. This is very worrying

well, i look at it THIS way...maybe when he gets re-elected he'll actually like TELL the truth because he'll have nothing to lose...

presidents can only be elected twice, for 8 years total. i should point out, they can only be elected, then reelected. not elected, then a new president, then they run again.

Why does it scare you?
Because it would prove that, no matter how disliked you are, no matter how dangerous your ideas, and no matter how many errors you make, you can still be elected leader of the world's only military/economic superpower.

Not directed toward me I know, but I'll answer.

One reason:

Because I strongly disagree with the majority of his policies as well as his methods. Thus if he is president for anther four years I fear that he will take the country further in a directions I think will do more bad than good.

at least i can go to sleep at night knowing that europe wont be electing my next leader. personally i think the idea that suddently if kerry is elected the whole world will be assisting us with iraq and the war on terror(patent pending) is dangerous, but i guess no one agrees with me there. but, his dislike doesnt matter for shit anywhere but here.

You really think that having a dangerous leader is better than having some outsiders pick someone to back and that have an influence?

Wow.

That doesn't make sense. This topic is about how people outside the US can not access George Bush's website. You are acting like this is the first steps in creating a totalitarian government.

Trust me, he can't. I've learned that the one thing the US constitution and government is set-up to do is to resist a person from getting too much power.

Again, Bush's website not being available to people outside the US has nothing to do with this issue.

Anyways, you have your vote and you used it. People have their vote and I hope they use it too (assuming they become knowledgable). I personally don't see Bush as a bad president.

What?

Mecha's post was responding to this post as far as I know:

He was saying that Bush getting elected scares him and that is what I was talking about too. I wasn't talking about Bushes website at all.

I do.

Oh, I wasn't referring to the thread topic as scary. I was referring to the idea of 4 more years, as expressed by this post:

I'm not worried abut totalitarianism or the like, because I'm confident enough in the america that i can't see that happening.
However, I am worried about a guy with a thousand nukes and and no real concern for international opinion. I'm also worried that democracy might, in the end, elect a man who is harming the basics of democracy.

Trust me, he can't. I've learned that the one thing the US constitution and government is set-up to do is to resist a person from getting too much power.
As I said, Im not afraid of anything as extreme as totalitarianism.
But, on the topic of constitutionality though, I am also frightened of how he is attempting to undermine the constitution with the gay marriage ban. It can only be seen as an attempt to merge church and state. An action that destroys the entire point behind the constitution.

America was still a democracy when there were slaves, and when women couldn't vote. I'd just like to see it become a better democracy, instead of a worse one.

Anyways, you have your vote and you used it. People have their vote and I hope they use it too (assuming they become knowledgable). I personally don't see Bush as a bad president.
Actually, I don't have a vote (Go Canada!), but i do have the shame of being allied to a man who I see as dangerous to my livelihood, and to the concept of freedom. I'd like that to end.

But anyway, thinking about my blender did just remind me that I had a popcorn maker stashed around here somewhere too.

Damn, I'm losing kitchen appliances right and left.

Time to go bolt down the fridge.

Why hasn't the democratic party pushed for massive changes then?

because states rights are more important than a perfect democratic election, so the democrats cant have it both ways. so many countries are enthralled with the notion that america is hellenistic in that way, but its not :)

because they CAN'T. the republicans are in the majority in all three government branches

Wrong. Common, be more creative. There is an answer, I want to see if you can guess it.

Democrats could have theoretically taken the 2000 elections a lot further than they did in terms of legal battles, etc.
