So I've been in this German class for just a week now, I'm already learning a lot. Just barely scratching the surface/the intro, but German, at least to me, is so much easier to pick up then say Spanish when I took that years ago. I can hear the things just a couple times and it sticks with me, and the structuring and the way things are written are more logical than other languages (even English, but English in my opinion does a better job at being descriptive)

Grüß dich! Mein name ist Paul, aber ich heiße "RakuraiTenjin." Mein Deutschlehrer- er heißt Herr Gotsch, der ist prima Deutschlehrer! Das ist einfach, ja klar.

Probably had a lot of mistakes in there but that's just me going off the top of my head, just from one week in that class. He's an excellent teacher. Would any German speakers here mind pointing out some flaws I might have, and ways to improve or just general tips? That'd be great.

Well, I don't speak German but sometimes you can be a bit annoying.

Oooh zing!

Anyway, I speak a bit of german, though I am far from fluent. Some flaws I noticed (don't lynch me if I get it wrong too) are

"Meine name"

"aber ich "RakuraiTenjin" heiB"(this part is a bit complicated, you probably wont get into it until the second year, depending on the speed of your class)

"er ist einer prima deutschlehrer." (der is used for "the" in the nominative case, er is for "he" in the accusative, again dont shoot me if I'm wrong on this)

Meiner deutschlehrer (also, don't capitalize deutsch if it refering to the language.)

Other than that it looks alright. I think.

"aber" and "weil" (and maybe a couple more, I'm out of practice) both send the verb to the end of the sentence, as staticprimer alluded to.

I lived with a german kid for about a year (foreign exchange student) and i picked up 2 words off him "halts maul" or "shut up" haha

I'm pretty sure it does, but I will ask a native German tomorrow to make sure.

Kristall Uberschwappen Eimer means crystal slop bucket, not that it matters, it pisses my German teacher off though.

Hi there!
Cool to see someone, who likes our language. And you seem very talented too. Very little mistakes. I made some suggestions for improving, mostly style things. :E

Grüß dich (or Hallo) (Grüß dich sounds very bavarian ;) )!

Well, so long

spanish is far easier than german ..just add a vowel at the end of each word ...works about 50% of the time

Im about to get into my second year of german. But "name" isn't german :P. It would be Ich heiße Paul. As I am called Paul. But im no German Expert. But Yeah, I think German is MUCH easier than spanish. And German teachers are usually pretty fun.

The accent must be pretty funny to work with, i'd find it good fun. Although i reckon learning a language again would spiral into nothingness as trying to learn French at school. I'd love to learn Dutch though. Nearly all dutch people talk english after all.

Actually, "name" is german. It's pronounced 'nahmah' though

I took a bit of German, don't remember shit though.

All I remember is it was easier to learn and funner to learn and way cooler than Spanish which I'm taking now.

I took German for 7 years and I still suck at it. I can understand people fine for the most part, but speaking is difficult for me. My vocabulary really only consists of insults, swear words, come-ons, and party lingo, as well as the nonsensical ("Ich liebe mein Fensterhosen!"). The grammar just never really caught on with me.

I think my problem for the most part was that I never had much use for it. When I started making German friends, my German significantly improved.

Deutsch is sehr einfach zu lernen. Ich bin habe for fünf Jahre Deatsch studieren, and ich habe viel gelernen.

How was that?

Haha no, I've always wanted to learn German and wanted to go to Germany since before I got real interested in politics at all, probably comes from some movie thing I saw about Germany and how it's like my ideal climate (total opposite of here)/good culture things I like. Germany was never really fascist anyway, national socialist during WWII. Either way I joined the corporatists, fascism will never progress under the name but the ideals I agree with, Corporatist (not only the party but others who call themselves that in general ideology too) have the same ideals but are better at actually being progressive with it. I noticed too that too many of the fascists at like the AFP with that creepy molester leader guy have veiled anti semitism wrapped up as anti zionism.

Anyhow, back on subject, thanks for the help from those who're good German speakers! I was kind of going ahead a little bit from our lessons so I can see I made a lot of mistakes, but I like that class a lot. I had a lot more trouble with Spanish, but like CptStern said I guess a lot of others find it way easier, odd, lol. We watched some old film today where these twins tricked people by buying a wig and such. German films in the 70's were like weird acid trips I guess

Is just like with me in Spanish, Italian, Romanian, and Latin. Don’t get me wrong I don’t all of the languages, but I am learning them pretty easily. (My native language is Spanish….I was born in Puerto Rico, a funny thing is that some people thought that I was German or Italian for some reason.)
Funny thing is when speak a Latin language you pretty much know all of them.

I will like to learn German too. I do know little bit of German, and little bit of Dutch. For some reason European languages is not hard for me.

Yeah, it is easy to learn, but I haven't been learning it for that long and I don't much listen in class anyway

We did one year of german in school..at the end of it, I could speak and understand more german than french (even though i'd been doing french for 4 years). I've forgotten almost all of it now. Shame
